CASE STUDY: CMJ/CONRAD SCHICK LIBRARY

VINTAGE PHOTO LIBRARY IMAGE DIGITISING & RESTORATION

This is a long-running project - 5+ years, with hopefully many more to come - to digitise, restore and distribute the thousands of original photographic glass plates, 'magic lantern' slides, prints and negatives stored for decades at the Conrad Schick Library at Christ Church in Jerusalem (which is a magical place if you ever get a chance to visit).

In the absence of the required funding to digitise, index and restore the entire library, I've been working with the volunteer library team over the past few years, selecting exceptional pieces from the collection - especially Victorian-era photographs, maps, letters, printed items and religious writings - for professional restoration.

It's a fun project, and I'm lucky enough to work with one of the top photographic restorers/retouchers in the world.

To prove that, here are some 'before and after' images (you can click on each image to view a larger version)...
